CHIWAWA RIVER CLAIMS WORK PARTY AND OUTING    MAY 16, 2026
TIME:    MEET AND SIGN-IN         8-9AM SATURDAY, MAY 16
LOCATION (see MAP):        GRAVEL PIT - WILL HAVE CANOPY SET UP 
WPMA is holding a Work Party on the 220 acres of Chiwawa River claims.  WPMA will bring food (burgers, hotdogs, and salad).  Will have all sign-in and then set out to find areas where work is need.  WPMA will bring gas powered weed eaters and electric chainsaw, loppers/pruners.    Members are requested to bring equipment they are comfortable using on brush or blown down trees on trails.  We have not viewed site since the fires last year, so we are not aware of conditions.  Anyone who has seen claims recently is requested to email conditions to garysuoja@outlook.com.  
The claims have several areas for camping and/or campers if anyone wants to stay overnight and work on the claims the next day.  Please review GOLD and FISH rules established by WDFW for Chiwawa River.  We cannot prospect in the River as we are outside the authorized timelines which are July1-July 31.  
PLEASE BRING MEMBERSHIP CARDS.  IF PARKING ON ANY DNR LANDS IN AREA, ALSO NEED STATE DISCOVER CARD. We had one individual ticketed by DNR earlier this year in the Sultan area.
There is a sign-up sheet attached for members who plan to attend.  Please use so we can plan food and equipment accordingly.
